Essential fundamentals to consider for keeping score:

Before you start putting scores on the sheet during a bowling match, you should understand some element or terms that are used in the bowling. First of all, when we talk about a football match, we say a score and when we talk about a cricket match, we say runs but in this case of a bowling match, we will use the term pin or pins instead of runs and scores. Each game of bowling includes ten frames and the players can achieve maximum score of 300 and minimum score of 0 in one frame. Each frame has two strikes or chances and each player tries to knock down all ten pins in these two strikes.

Useful tips for keeping score during a bowling match:

When the player knocks down all the pins in first hand, it is called a strike and it’s marked as X on the score sheet. On the other hand, when a player uses two hands to knock down all the ten pins, it is called spare and marked as A on the score sheet. If the player is unable to knock down all ten pins after two strikes, it will be called open frame and each open frame has its own value depending on the number of pin standing on the pitch.
