Make sure to Understand the Deadline:

Keep in mind that newspapers work different that social media websites which means you can’t just publish something when you want but you need to follow schedule and timeline. When you talk to a newspaper and ask them about cost of the obituary, make sure to ask them about when is the deadline to submit final draft so it can be published in next day’s newspaper. Usually editors require receiving long obituaries at least 8-10 hours before printing the newspaper so they can proofread it.

Publishing it in Multiple Newspapers:

When you are creating an obituary, it’s possible that the deceased person was famous which means publishing it in only local newspaper might not be enough.
